Energy drinks - Script

Have you ever think about a drink that can gives you lots of energy to stay awake and focus?

Energy drink is a drink intended to boost mental energy, typically containing sugar, caffeine or other ingredients as taurine. In the past people used to drink coffee and tea and it was their energy drink because it contains caffeine. Apparently tea contains more caffeine than coffee and people used to drink these two drinks because it gives them energy so they can stay awake and focus. The birthplace for coffee in Ethiopia and the birthplace for tea in China. Caffeine occurs naturally in coffee, tea, chocolate, kola nuts and a variety of other plants. Caffeine is the main supplement in energy drinks and caffeine is a drug that is naturally produced in the leaves and seeds of many plants. In the natural form, caffeine tastes very bitter, but most caffeinated drinks have gone through enough processing to camouflage the bitter taste. The chemical symbol for caffeine is C8H10N4O2, that means it contains 8 carbons, 10 hydrogens, 4 nitrogen, and 2 oxygens. However, with the passage with days in 1960 in Japan a man named Taisho made the first modern energy drink he named it (Lipvitan-D) this drink contains a mix of essential vitamins, taurine, and niacin. After that in 1987 Dietrich an Austrian added to  (Lipvitan-D) caffeine and sugar and named the drink Red Bull. Then Red Bull introduced in Europe and Asia and in the last 90’s this drink introduced in America. In 2002 Monster and power horse energy drinks was created by Hansen and it contain the same ingredient in Red Bull plus ginseng and blueberry flavor.
However, people nowadays still drink coffee and tea because some people don’t like Red Bull or other type of energy drinks so they prefer to drink coffee or tea. Coffee and tea is a traditional thing in Gulf countries and people in Gulf countries drink coffee and tea as a social aspect when they gather. Whereas, other countries around the world prefer to drink coffee and tea instead of Red Bull, monster, and power horse because they think it gives them more energy and it much safer than other types of energy drinks. But in real coffee and tea has the same effect as in other types of energy drinks. Most sport players drink energy drinks to have more capacity.
Energy drinks can have positive effect on cognitive performance. Studies have shown that consuming energy drinks had a significant positive effect on concentration, reasoning, and aptitude. Also it helps people to stay awake and focus. When my father drives from Abu Dhabi to Ajman he drinks Red Bull to stay focus and awake. Moreover it increase alertness and contributes to an increase in dopamine levels in the blood. On the other hand there are wide range of negative effects of drinking energy drinks. It may results in high sugar blood because energy drinks contains a huge amount of sugar, insomnia, mood change, weight gain, increase blood pressure, increase urination, dizziness, jitters, and headache. Energy drinks have more negative effects than positive effects and it is very bad for all people I believe but especially for teenagers because teenager’s body are still grow and when they always or even usually drink energy drinks it may affect their inside body and cause renal failure and also it may delay pregnancy with ladies.
In the UAE Salem alhammadi 23 years old used to drink Red bull two times daily for one whole month, he was addicted he can’t stop, his mother noticed that her son can’t sleep and was hyperactivity and she felt the insomnia on his face so she took him to the hospital and the shock was he have diabetes because of the Red bull.
Energy drinks are forbidden in Norway and Canada, however in Washington state and Gulf countries begins legislation to ban energy drinks to persons under 18 years old.
If you think seriously about energy drinks you will understand how it is really bad and danger for our health and life. Is drinking energy drinks worth losing your life?
